No England C players? On ya bike pal
28 August 2013
Happy Wednesday, all. London Diary here, and not much to report at all today really. A few little bits and bobs, no meaty exclusives, no meaty anything. What’s that? No Grimsby Town players in the England C squad? That’s an absolute outrage. We’re Grimsby Town FC, we deserve to have players in that squad. We’re joint 2nd (4th) in the league. Didn’t they see us on that BT channel? Ridiculous. Bradley Wood, however, is in the team.
The Telewag has published its last exclusive excerpt from Sir John of McDermott’s book and it’s a real spine-tingler. Nice little story about giving his boots away too. Got me going a little bit, could have been the hay fever though. Oh whatever, men are allowed to cry, alright?! The other week Sir John started following me on Twitter, and I’m not going to lie, I had to call up my mum and tell her I’d achieved everything in life. Then I had another cry.
Also, while on Twitter, I noticed that Gary Cohen has an account on there. Cohen was a player who I was a big fan of when he joined the club, brought in by Russell Slade from Gretna. I thought he was a cracking little winger with real pace. He set up some nice goals that season and even scored a few when he was first brought in. Sadly though, like a few players that season, his career was cut short through injury. I was pleased to see from his Twitter profile that he’s now trying his hand at road racing and even has his own blog about starting this new chapter. If you have a minute, have a little read. It’s nice to see that the enthusiasm and commitment he showed at Grimsby are being applied to another discipline. You keep cycling, pal.
In other news (aka padding), Hatton has tweaked his knee and Rodman wants to start (in the team, not a fight) and why shouldn’t he? He’s a good-looking man. TTFN.
