Division 4
Stevenage 2 Guthrie (17), Carter (44)
Grimsby Town 1 Rose (80)
Attendance: 3220
He only came on mid-way through the second half but he still did more than the rest managed in the first 80 minutes.
"Our first 45 minutes was our worst performance by a distance. Could have made 11 subs at half time."
"That result has been coming. We knew we had been starting games well and showing enough in games to win games, but ultimately we just needed to get over the line in a league match."
There are two Towns. One turned up at Exeter and Walsall, the other at Forest Green Rovers and now Stevenage. The fact we can play delightful football and match any team in the division makes this game harder to bear.
Hanson’s last goal was against Walsall: a bullet header from a magnificent cross after sublime football. The fact we interchange performances like that with ones where our only goal is route one to Hanson's head, or making him chase down the channels, is one reason we are tenth, and he hasn't scored since.
Too much tinkering is another.
Stevenage are poor, but not so poor as to be winless. They may find a couple of sides worse, from what I've witnessed so far this year.
I'd have accepted death rather than be forced to watch another ten minutes of this game.
Mr N Hair
Neil Hair did not have any decisions to make. It's a low bar, but compared with last week: magnificent.
On our showing against Exeter, we'd be championship challengers and promotion shoo-ins. On this performance, we could easily exit the division in the opposite direction.
