In the month of August, the 28th day

The Blundell Park players are away at the Posh
Expect a visit from our friends in Torquay

A pilgrimage you must make (but there's room for hijinks)
24/9 at Boston - the battle for Lincs
September, a Tuesday (27th that be)
You can watch Town against Notts County

On October the first, if you're inclined that way
Travel to see Town at a meadow that's gay
The team from Wycombe come wandering over
More Friday night bollocks on the 7th of October
Away the next week, and the date now 14
Cheltenham, on a Friday - fuck's sake - it's obscene
22nd October - Saturday (thankfully)
Leyton Orient can be seen on the turf at BP
A week after that (29th) and away
The Town playing Cobblers (no, not in that way)

Remember, remember the 5th of November
FA Cup match first round, Town versus, um, er...
Saturday 12th, and it's down to the Park
Macclesfield come over for more football lark
On the 19th the Mariners must travel down south
Wycombe in November? It's like a kick in the mouth
A trip to Oxford the following week
Well it's nicer there, but the weather's still bleak

And so to December, more precisely the third
An FA Cup match (quite doubtful, I've heard)
But Tuesday 6th and we're back home - hurrah!
Rochdale in Town (whoever they are)
Bristol will visit (not City but Rovers)
The 10th is when we hope Town aren't pushovers
17th December I feel something quaking
It's Darlington away. It's cold and I'm shaking
You've finished your turkey, it's now Boxing Day
I'm afraid the fun's over: BURY AWAY
Wednesday 28th - a local affair
Lincoln at home. See: 2-4 nightmare
A travel to Wales on the eve of new year
Wrexham it is, though defeat's what I fear

January 2nd. New Year, new beginning?
Carlisle at home - what's important is winning
The following Saturday, 7th of Jan
Town winning at Stockport is our major plan
The 14th at home, the field full of men
It's Mansfield at home - maybe three points again?
Jan 21, and it's Torquay we'll visit
A defeat and we'll hear: "Booo, Slade, sort it"
But come the next week, venue: Parc du Blundell
28th sees Town give Peterborough hell

February comes, we're Nottingham bound
Saturday 4th at the County Ground
The following week sees us back on our patch
Boston at home. It's a local-ish match
Valentine's Day show your partner affection:
"I'm in Mansfield that evening, did I fail to mention?"
Away. Away. The immediate Saturday
Rochdale on the 18th. I'm sorry, who are they?
And then home to Chester on the 25th day
Push for promotion or dreaming of May?

The 4th of March, with spring in the air
Rushden. Away. For those that still care
And so the next week, and Barnet are here
The 11th of March. Town still in low gear
Add seven days and we're at home again
Bury will try to undo 5-1 defeat pain
25th of March, Town acting like pimps
Whoreing out three points away at the Imps

1st day of April, it's Wrexham we play
At Blundell Park - three points on a tray?
And then a long journey to Cumbria
8th in Carlisle - rubbish goalkeeper
At home on the 15th, crowds dwindling now,
Shrewsbury cave in? I doubt it somehow
Tuesday 17th sees us play in the Smoke
Orient defeated or Town starting to croak?
21st. Yes, that's a Friday, yes, I fucking know
Cheltenham at home. FRIDAY FOOTBALL MUST GO.
29th and Saturday football is back
Town on their travels to the town of Macc

6th of May, at home. Season's up
Just time to watch Northampton win and go up.
