Getting there by train

Walking Map
If you're planning on making the journey to Blundell Park by train, the train station you need to get yourself to is Cleethorpes. (Trains from Newark and Lincoln often terminate at Grimsby Town station; see the bottom of this page for your options from there.)

The main train line to Grimsby and Cleethorpes runs across the country from Manchester to Cleethorpes, going through Sheffield, Doncaster and Scunthorpe. Trains run every hour in both directions. You'll probably end up making your way to Doncaster to catch one of these trains. It's a 50-minute journey from there.

From Cleethorpes station it's a 20-minute walk – either along the seafront or by heading inland a little and then west along Grimsby Road (marked purple on the map above). We recommend the seafront route as it's direct and will provide you with a marvellous rush of North Sea air. Simply come out of the train station, and then with the sea in front of you, turn left and keep walking. The road leads onto a path which you should take and shortly you'll see the floodlights of Blundell Park. A footbridge will take you from the path to behind the Main Stand.

If you get off the train at Grimsby Town, your options to get to Blundell Park are paying a fiver for a taxi, finding a bus that goes by the ground (the 3A, 3C, 3F, 8X, 9X and 45 all do), or walking for about 45 minutes.
