About the Cod Almighty team of the month
Good elevens, bad elevens, ugly elevens, elevens with fishy names... Grimsby have had thousands of players and not all of them can be made to fit into that old standard, a best ever eleven. But now the Cod Almighty team of the month gives you the chance to celebrate (if that is the word) the 'talent' that has represented the Mariners in all its, um, diversity.
Each month, we will announce the theme for the team of the month. Then you email us to nominate one, two or several Town players who deserve to be in a team with that theme. If you can give some reasons for your nominations, so much the better. At the end of the month, we'll put the results together, and announce a new theme. No prizes, just the chance to revel in our heritage.
