I'm so tyred
6 May 2026
Here's my review of Kwik Fit Grimsby. I phoned them on Bank Holiday Monday and ordered a tyre. They told me to come in at 1130 yesterday to have the tyre fitted. They had ordered the wrong tyre. They asked me to come in this morning instead, or should I say, as well. 1 out of 5 stars. Incidentally, that's why aliens don't visit our solar system. They checked online and we only have one star.
What has this to do with the Mariners? Well, it means a shorter and more rushed diary today as I have to go to Kwik Fit in the possibly forlorn hope that they have ordered the right pissing tyre. Luckily, despite it being the most exciting week of the year for the GTFC hordes, there isn't actually that much news or gossip to dissect.
We're all excited about Salford, arent we? Yes, we are. First legs of play-off games are weird because we could lose 2-1 and still have hope in our hearts. Or win 3-1 and still be worried. Anything could happen.
So, I just want to use this brief diary to say thank you to the manager and the players for giving us such a great season, however it ends up. The commitment, the effort, the energy and the sheer will to win I've seen from these players in the past year has been all I could have asked for as a supporter. Even when we lost, even when it didn't go for us, I can hardly ever, if ever, say it was from lack of effort.
Proud of my team. Proud to be a Mariner and if we find ourselves still in League Two next season, there has still been an enormous amount to admire and applaud. Thank you, from the bottom of my supporter's heart.
Right. Off to Kwik Fit . Other tyre garages are available, and if I were you, I'd use them.
