Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud

Trentside Diary writes: I'm still playing over Saturday’s game in my mind. It's a long time since I've seen a 0-0 draw that was so enthralling. Finished off with a family get-together in Cleethorpes, it was what Saturdays were made for.
I made the mistake of having a read through the comments on the club posts about the rainbow laces campaign. All I can say is it feels like we have a long way to go. I say "we" advisedly because the club are highlighting issues and the rest of us have a part to play. If you're in any doubt just listen to how a fan was made to feel at one of the play-off games. Banter, some will argue, but it really isn't. I have the utmost respect for Keiron for speaking out.
I also appreciate it can be very hard for people to challenge this at the time as there are some very aggressive idiots. It's probably actually easier for me as a woman as it feels less likely to trigger a fight but it can still be intimidating. I was talking to a fan who sits in the upper who was upset at some racist shouting at a game earlier this season but felt that the bloke shouting was too aggressive to challenge. All I can say is if you don't feel able to say anything then speak to the nearest steward or police officer.
There are a few who think "football should be just football" and there should be none of this "taking a knee and rainbow laces nonsense". I hate to disappoint them but even if you don't subscribe to a tolerant, inclusive club or society there are many of us who do and would want every fan to feel that they were in a safe environment at the game. If you can't get onboard, think what you like but keep it in your head and just behave like a decent human being.
We're in action again tonight. I like a Tuesday night game but sadly can’t be there and haven't decided yet whether I’ll just listen or will stream it. If you happen to be passing later, there appear to be tickets still available directly from Barrow. They've had a similar start to us so it certainly won't be an easy game but let's hope we can keep up Saturday's momentum.
