We know where we're going, we know where we're from

Your Guest Diary greets you as the dog days of June make working outside hard graft in a dry hot week. But next week, next week! July beckons, the week when (maybe) England will remember how to attack; the week when Cav returns to the Tour de France for one last nerve-jangling, pulsating go at a final sprint victory. A month when proper football starts up again with pre-season friendlies galore. Cucumbers are ready, tomatoes are turning and life is a bowl of cherries.

And Town have enough players contracted to pick a team and name some half-decent subs. A month ago all looked uncertain, the budget looked small, the renewals and signings uncertain. Now the manager can carefully look for a couple of promising young loanees and plan for a season playing football his way, with players who look like fitting his style better.

What is not certain is league performance. But with a great set of opening fixtures the chance to impress with some statement performances and results is there. Let's have a great July, and an even better August shall we? And for those of you sporting new look Town shirts remember as you pull them on that you are part of "the overlap between lifestyle and pure performance". You gotta love twenty first century marketing speak. See yer.
